Over time, Florida’s intense sun, rain and everyday weather can leave pavers looking faded, dull and worn while the joint sand between them begins to wash away.
A proper paver sealing job is about more than simply applying sealer. We start by thoroughly cleaning the entire paver system to remove dirt, algae and buildup. Once the pavers are clean and properly prepared, we re-sand the joints with fresh joint sand before applying a high-quality two-part, water-based paver sealer that locks the sand into the joints and helps protect the surface.
We use professional-grade sealer designed for Florida’s climate and conditions. Depending on the look you want, we can also discuss different finish options to help restore the color and appearance of your pavers while making the entire surface easier to maintain.
If your pavers have shifted, settled or become damaged over time, we can also address paver repairs as part of the restoration process, giving us the ability to clean, repair, re-sand and seal the paver system from start to finish.

Our Paver Sealing Service Process
A quality paver sealing job starts long before the sealer is applied. At CFL PowerWash, we use a simple three-step process: Clean, Re-Sand & Seal. Each step properly prepares the paver system for the next.
1. CLEAN — Deep Clean & Surface Preparation
We begin with a deep and thorough cleaning of the entire paver surface and joints. We use professional cleaning solutions, including algaecides and degreasers, to treat organic growth and help lift oils and other buildup from the pavers. If rust stains are present, we can also treat those as part of the preparation process.
2. RE-SAND — Hydro-Compacted Joint Sand
Once the pavers are clean, we re-sand the joints using our hydro-compaction method. This process uses water to help work fresh joint sand down into the joints from the bottom up, helping achieve a more complete and consistent fill throughout the paver system.
We also offer multiple joint-sand colors so the finished look can complement your pavers, including pearl, black, tan, beige and platinum.
3. SEAL — Protect & Finish the Surface
After the joints have been properly re-sanded and the paver system is ready, we apply our two-part, water-based paver sealer. The sealer enhances the appearance of the pavers, helps protect the surface and stabilizes the fresh joint sand we just installed.
Paver sealing is typically planned as a two-day process from start to completion. In some cases the work can progress faster depending on weather, drainage and how quickly the paver system dries, but we prefer to allow adequate time between preparation and sealing rather than rush the process.

What is included in your paver sealing service?
Our paver sealing service includes a complete cleaning, re-sanding and sealing of the paver system. We start with a deep cleaning to remove dirt and treat algae, mildew and other organic growth. We also degrease areas where oil is present and treat calcium and rust stains as needed.
Once the pavers and joints have been thoroughly cleaned, we install new joint sand throughout the paver system. The final step is applying our professional-grade sealer to help stabilize the fresh joint sand, protect the surface and enhance the appearance of the pavers.
Why do you re-sand the joints before sealing pavers?
Over time, the existing sand between your pavers can become contaminated with dirt, algae, mildew and other buildup, eventually turning into more of a muddy material than clean joint sand. During the cleaning process, we remove that old material from the joints rather than simply applying sealer over it.
Once the pavers are clean, we install brand-new joint sand using our hydro-compaction method, filling the joints from the bottom up. The fresh sand helps stabilize the pavers and reduce movement, and the sealer then helps lock that new joint sand in place for a cleaner, more stable paver system.
How long does the paver sealing process take?
The entire paver sealing process typically takes one to two days, with two days being the standard for most projects. The exact timeline depends on the size and type of surfaces being sealed, weather conditions, and how well the paver system drains and dries after cleaning.
We allow the pavers the appropriate amount of time to drain and dry before moving into the re-sanding and sealing stages rather than rushing the process.
How long should I stay off my pavers after they are sealed?
After your pavers have been sealed, light foot traffic is typically okay after about 4–6 hours. We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before heavy foot traffic, moving furniture back, or—as we like to say—throwing a party on your newly sealed pavers.
Vehicles should stay off the sealed surface for approximately 48–72 hours to give the sealer adequate time to cure. Weather and site conditions can affect drying and curing times, so we’ll let you know if your particular project requires additional time.
Can you repair damaged or sunken pavers before sealing?Toggle Title
Yes. We can address many paver repairs before sealing, including minor damage, uneven or sunken areas, and sections that have been lifted by tree roots. If individual pavers are damaged beyond repair, we can also help source replacement pavers when suitable replacements are available.
Taking care of these issues before sealing allows us to restore the paver system as much as possible before the final re-sanding and sealing process. Minor repairs may be handled as part of the project, while larger or more extensive repairs may require an additional cost, which we’ll discuss with you before the work is performed.
